Warren Family
Reverend Doug Warren and family

Rev. Doug Warren - Pastor

Doug Warren is the church planting pastor. That means he is getting the church started. That does NOT mean that he plans to leave after it is established. He is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary - Orlando (MDiv '97). Doug also met his wife at RTS and that is where they started their family.

Doug and Kristen were on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC) for more than ten years before making the move to Portland. Doug also worked with Josh McDowell and led several mission trips to Russia.

Doug's wife, Kristen, also graduated from RTS (MA in Biblical Studies). Kristen has 14 years of ministry experience with Campus Crusade, including leading the women's ministry at the University of Montana and working at the world headquarters of CCC. Currently, Kristen's main ministry is mothering the Warrens' two sons and two daughters: Donnelly, Karis, Libby, and Colby.

Doug and Kristen love people and have a passion for authentic community. They are involved with several areas of service in Portland from their local Parent Teacher's Association to the Root Cellar--a Munjoy Hill ministry.

You can email him at doug.warren@MainePCA.org.

Almquist Family
Pastor Per Almquist and family

Per Almquist - Assistant Pastor

Per (pronounced "pear") is our assistant pastor and church planting apprentice. In addition to his ministry at Christ the Redeemer, Per and his family are preparing to start a new church in another community here in Maine.

An avid sports fan, Per believes that the pleasure of playing and watching sports is one sure sign that God exists. Per is a military brat who grew up all over the US, while Per's wife, Beth, is a native New Englander. Both greatly enjoy the harsh New England weather - though their three boys, Kyle, Jason, and Scotty enjoy the snow even more than Mom & Dad. They reside in Portland's east end.

Beth is a music teacher who enjoys her music, scrap booking, and being spoiled as the only girl in the lives of her four guys at home.

You can email him at per.almquist@MainePCA.org.

Joanne and Robert Crosby
Joanne and Robert Crosby

Joanne Crosby - Office Manager

Joanne Crosby is our Office Manager. She and husband Robert are native-born Mainers; not "From Away" as we say in Maine. She grew up in Portland and has attended an evangelical church all her life. She came to know Christ as a very young child. Robert came to know Christ as a young adult.

Joanne worked in Portland at an independent insurance agency as a personal lines agent for twenty-seven years. In February of 2003, she joined the staff of Christ the Redeemer Presbyterian as the Office Manager. Joanne is the one who answers the phone here in the office, and she is in charge of keeping everything organized and up-to-date. "I really enjoy working here and being a part of this new church plant. I am blessed to be able to watch what God is doing here in my hometown."

You can email Joanne at joanne.crosby@MainePCA.org.

Evan Pillsbury and Family
Evan Pillsbury and Family

Evan Pillsbury - Musician-in-Residence

Evan Pillsbury is our Musician-in-Residence. As Musician-in-Residence, he oversees the music ministry and works to network with artists in the area. He can be seen Sunday mornings leading the music as a vocalist or cellist.

Evan holds a Master’s of Sacred Music in Choral Conducting from Boston University (00’) as well as a Bachelor of Music in ‘Cello performance from Wheaton College (’94). It was at Wheaton where he met his wife, Kathryn (’95), who is also a musician (violin, viola, early children’s music). Evan previously served as a musician at churches in Massachusetts and Maryland.

Evan and Kathryn have a varied and interesting background that they bring to Christ the Redeemer. They both play in a string trio they formed with a friend in 2002, called Trio da Camera, and are faculty members in the Suzuki program at the Portland Conservatory of Music. This fall Kathryn will be the new Musikgarten (music and movement curriculum) instructor at the Portland Conservatory. Kathryn has been a trained Musikgarten instructor since 1996 and since fall 2002 has been teaching a (free!) Musikgarten class at Christ the Redeemer during our Sunday morning education hour.

When the Pillsburys aren’t busy with their music making they are usually trying to keep up with their children, Karis and Silas. Both Evan and Kathryn are native New Englanders (Evan grew up in the Portland area) and are excited about how God has brought them back to this region to serve in His Kingdom.

You can email Evan at evan.pillsbury@MainePCA.org.
